Concert Band

Percussion Techniques (No Audition/prerequisite required):

Percussion Techniques is where you will continue to learn how to play all of the percussion instruments from snare drum and drum set to mallet instruments.  During this class you will experience how percussion instruments can be used to create a separate musical ensemble as well as joining the Woodwind and Brass classes to create a concert band.  This group will have quarterly concerts and other performing opportunities throughout the school year.

Woodwind Techniques (No Audition/prerequisite required):

Woodwind Techniques is for students who currently play flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon or saxophone.  We will continue your previous education in a setting that is focused on the specific aspects of woodwind playing.  Students who have not played an instrument before can try this class if they are willing to work hard and ask for help.  This ensemble will perform as a Woodwind Choir and also join with the Brass and Percussion class to create a concert band that will have quarterly concerts and other performing opportunities throughout the year.

Brass Techniques (No Audition/prerequisite required):

Brass Techniques is for students who currently play trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium or tuba.  In this class we will continue with your previous experience in a setting that is focused on the specific aspects of brass playing.  Students who have not played a brass instrument before may join this class if they are willing to work hard and ask for help.  This ensemble will perform as a Brass Choir and will also join the Woodwind and Percussion classes to create a concert band that will have quarterly concerts and other performing opportunities throughout the year.
